What could be more idyllic than an outdoor wedding in Vermont? Whether in the mountains, by the lake, on a hill, or in a meadow, many couples choose to be married under the sky and in the open air. But finding mucicians who will play outdoors can sometimes be a challenge. Wooden instruments can be damaged by moisture, direct sun, or cool or hot temperatures. Large instruments can be hard to transport to out of the way locations, and can be extra risky to expose to the elements since they’re difficult to pack up and move if the weather should shift.

Flute is an ideal choice for outdoor weddings. As a metal instrument, it can withstand most weather conditions. And its compact size makes it possible to transport anywhere and move easily if weather conditions change. The sound of the flute can carry great distances.
Many people who love outdoor weddings also love the sound of harp. But it’s often a challenge to find harpists for outdoor weddings given the harp’s combination of extreme delicacy and cumbersome size. Mariah’s instrumental versatility gives us many options (see harp/flute or harp/violin duo page). If the weather is great, the harp can play, but if weather conditions create a potential challenge that harpists would tend to avoid, we can substitute our duo with either violin, or in case of actual light rain, with solo flute. Or perhaps you could have the option of flute and violin at a wedding service and flute and harp at an indoor or well tented reception following the service.
Other instrument combinations are also  available for outdoor  weddings. Please ask!
