Students With Special Needs
Dr. Suzuki tells the story of the efforts of a six year
old violinist who had suffered infant paralysis.
Initially, her arm would twitch involuntarily, sending
the bow flying across the room. Within six months of
patient practice, the child was able to play "Twinkle,
Twinkle Little Star." After several years, in addition to
continued musical progress, her crossed right eye
gradually moved to the correct position and her entire
right side became able to move normally, through the
physical and mental exercise of violin playing.

I am experienced in working in a variety of
situations with both children and adults with
disabilities. I have been successful in teaching flute and
recorder to students with both learning and physical
disabilities, and am always eager to accept new
challenges, where the specific circumstances are
conducive. Please
email me to set up a time to discuss
the options.
