Key Quiz
Test yourself to see if you can figure out what the flats or
sharps are of a given key.

You may wish to first check out this series of pages on
determining the key signature of a given scale:
                               The Order of Sharps
                    The Order of Flats
Determining the Key Signature of a Scale Page 1
Determining the Key Signature of a Scale Page 2

And here's a map of the Circle of Fifths (explanation will follow)
Links to other games, quizzes and drills available on the web:
(I've selected only ones that are free and without pop up ads)

           Note Naming:

Cards to print - for games, flash card drill, etc.:

Blue Cards

Green Cards

Pink Cards

Yellow Cards

Backs if you'd like to get fancy!

“NoteCard” note reading drill at:
                 www.batchconverter.com/NoteCard-download-15063.shtml
This begins with only 2 notes, and adds one note for each increase in level, so is great
for younger students and beginning readers (though it starts with low D).

Here's one with numerous music theory options you may wish to explore:
                 http://www.emusictheory.com/practice.html
Choose “Note Names” then click on “Settings” in the upper left corner to set for
“Treble Staff Only” (unless you play piano or a bass or alto clef instrument). You may
also wish not to allow ledger lines in the beginning.  As you get faster you may wish to
click on the link below the game: “Click here to go back to the list of practice drills"
and then click on “Paced Note Names” for a more challenging speed workout.

And a fun note naming game for probably upper elementary on up. Try to
let the note (on the staff) fall on its proper letter name without hitting
                      the bomb:
